Solution Focused Hypnotherapy

Solution Focused Hypnotherapy is a highly effective and evidenced based combination of talking therapy and relaxing hypnosis. This approach blends Solution Focused Brief Therapy (SFBT), Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), Neurolinguistic Programming (NLP) and Hypnosis together to help people achieve their goals.

 

Step by step I will support you to imagine your preferred future, then via hypnosis you will be guided to the part of your mind that finds solutions, and this will consolidate what we have discussed. The added benefit of hypnosis or trance, which can be likened to ‘daydreaming’ means that the sessions are incredibly relaxing and enjoyable.

 

Trance is perfectly normal and very safe; we go into it many times during the day when we are absorbed by a task. Contrary to popular belief I can’t hypnotise you against your will or ‘magic’ your problems away. However, if you are willing to engage in the therapeutic process, we can work together to make change happen.

 

When working with children and teenagers I adapt the sessions to include age appropriate activities and tasks. This helps to engage children and it enables them to understand how their mind words and then to find effective and creative ways to cope.
