Anxious teen

Lucy, aged 19

When my mum suggested that I try hypnotherapy, I was incredibly reluctant. I thought it sounded strange - I was wrong. This therapy really has changed my life for the better. That might sound like an exaggeration to some but for a while anxiety consumed my life.

I was constantly overthinking everything I did. I thought I was not good enough.  There are days where I can feel my anxiety creeping up but with the techniques Julie taught me, I’m able to put it at bay on my own.

I can’t thank her enough for the change she’s had in my life. She’s allowed me to be me and for that I’m forever thankful. I would encourage anyone thinking about starting to do so.

Life-changing illness

Michelle

I was diagnosed with a life-changing illness and the treatment left me terrified. With Julie's expert help I was able to discuss my fears in a safe and relaxed environment, and she helped me to move forward. The audio tape was the one thing that calmed me when I was in hospital. I can’t thank Julie enough and would highly recommend her.

Panic attacks

Emma

Having been panic-free since my early twenties, I was devastated to feel an attack was imminent while driving on the motorway. I knew I needed help but wanted to avoid medication and a friend suggested hypnotherapy.

Julie was amazing - from our first meeting she listened - she was actually the first person to explain why anxiety and panic attacks occur. I now recognise the signals that my body gives me that I’d previously ignored. To be taught techniques to stop this happening gave me back control. Most importantly, I’m back driving confidently on the motorway again!

She has helped me find the skills to live without feeling afraid.

Sleep problems

Lettie

My daughter, aged 8, was having night terrors and waking up to nine times a night. She was feeling anxious, especially at school. This had a huge impact on her behaviour and learning.

Julie would plan her sessions - every week was different - they would make crafts or drawings whilst Julie would talk to her about what was bothering her. They would also discuss the positives in her life. After their little chats, Julie would do relaxation, taking her to a happy place and making her worries a thing of the past. My daughter had full trust in Julie.

Julie has given amazing support to my daughter.

Reptile phobia

Clare

I went to Harry Potter World with my daughter and previously it would have set my heart racing. There are lots of models of dragons, snakes and lizards but I walked past all the huge displays and was even calm enough to have a selfie taken. The friend I was with was totally blown away at my lack of reaction.

...I have since returned from a holiday to Cyprus and in terms of my reptile phobia, I am really pleased that I felt a difference in my mindset. I wasn’t scanning the horizon constantly for lizards and snakes. When I did see a lizard, I was able to look at it – and even had lunch with one on the tree next to me!

Feeling very proud and ever thankful for your amazing skills.

Anger management

Ellis, aged 9

I really like Julie. She is always kind and makes me nice things. She does some really fun activities that help me to calm down. I can see a difference in my behaviour because of Julie. When I start to feel angry, I think of different things I can do to help.

Ellis’s mum

Julie has been amazing with my son who was having difficulties controlling his anger and frustrations. He really enjoys visiting her. Both of us and his school have seen a noticeable difference in the way he reacts to situations – rather than reacting without thinking.
